Nexus One Gets Android 2.2.1 Update: A Guide on How to Update.

Google’s smartphone, Nexus One, is now receiving an OTA (Over the Air) update for Android 2.2.1 (Build FRG83). At present, other than removing the ability to perform one-click rooting, it is uncertain what the update doe; nonetheless, it is safe to assume that it probably fixes bugs and improves general stability.

Please note that your device can either be updated OTA. If you cannot wait for the OTA update, you may manually update your device by following these insturctions:
Google Nexus One

Step 1: Download Android 2.2.1 from Google  by clicking here
Step 2: Rename the downloaded file to “update.zip” and transfer it to your Nexus One’s microSD card.
Step 3: Turn off your Nexus One.
Step 4: Keep the “Volume Down” button pressed and turn on the phone. Scroll down to  recovery and press the power button.
Step 5: When you see a triangle with an exclamation mark, simultaneously press the Power and Volume Down buttons. A menu will appear, select Apply sdcard:update.zip
Step 6: Now the screen will say install from sdcard complete. Select reboot system now and leave the phone for a while. It will take considerable time rebooting and updating to 2.2.1 firmware.
