Kik, the universal, free texting application for BlackBerry that allowed users to message any of their friends in real time without paying exaggerated SMS fees has been kicked out of the BlackBerry App World.It is unclear as to why this happened, however, some sources suggest that among other reasons, there were numerous privacy concerns that had been raised by many users. Even though Kik had promised to fix these concerns, they really never did. Other views are that Kik had a fairly aggressive strategy of pulling contacts into the app and using that to promote downloads. That is to say, pull your contacts and spam them so as to promote their App!
Either way, it is interesting to note that Kik is still available for download from the Apples App store as well on Android.
