New tweaks in iOS 4.2 for iPhone, iPad and iPod.

iOS 4.2 Multitasking bar
iOS 4.2 for the iPad, iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4 and the second, third, and fourth generations of the iPod touch has moved from the beta stage to the Gold Master version. This means that the public version should be available in two to three weeks time. Other than what has been mentioned earlier, you may expect the following additions from iOS 4.2.
  1. Multitasking for the iPad.
  2. Fast access to brightness, volume, and AirPlay controls right in the multitasking bar (see picture above). This is in addition to the pre-existing orientation lock button, playback controls, brightness slider and iPod icon.
  3. Possibility of MobileMe service logins using an Apple ID.
The release of iOS 4.2 marks the first time that the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad will concurrently run on the same version of iOS not to mention that it will also marks the iPad's transition to the iOS 4 era.
