Flashed Verizon iPhone to Work on Cricket Wireless.

Cricket wireless has announced that if you bring a flashed iPhone to one of their stores, they will activate it for you. In case you don’t know where to go to flash your iPhone, just ask one of  Cricket's  friendly employees… According to their website:
Can I flash a phone to work on the Cricket network?
Yes, Cricket will activate any phone that’s been flashed to work on the Cricket network.
Cricket corporate stores currently do not flash phones to work on the Cricket network but many of the indirect dealer (both standard and premier) have the ability to flash a customer’s phone, and most corporate stores will be able to tell a customer where to go to have their phones flashed to Cricket. To find a list of store locations, click here.
If you choose to activate a non-Cricket phone on the Cricket network, there is a possibility that some of the phone features or service plan features may not operate. Additionally, flashed phones are not eligible for the Cricket Phone Replacement Program or Cricket Warranty Exchange Program. Not all phones are capable of being flashed to work on the Cricket network.

Wallaby, Adobe's Flash To HTML5 Conversion Tool Brings Flash Content To iPhone, iPad, iPod touch

Adobe has released their Flash-to-HTML5 conversion tool. This is mainly an effort to bring Flash based content on to non-Flash devices such as the popular iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Dubbed the Wallaby, the software enables developers to convert their Flash based content to HTML5 so that the content may be run on HTML5 based browsers like Mobile Safari, found on iOS devices.
"Wallaby" is the codename for an experimental technology that converts the artwork and animation contained in Adobe® Flash® Professional (FLA) files into HTML. Wallaby is not a final product and is still in the testing and validation phase. We are not yet able to commit to a roadmap for this experimental technology.
Available for both Windows and Mac, Wallaby can be downloaded via the links given below.

According to a report published by MIC Gadget, “Engineering Prototype” it appears that models of the iPhone 4 with a storage capacity of 64GB are currently being sold underground in Hong Kong, China.

According to Unwire.hk, this suspicious 64GB model has started selling in Sin Tak, the greatest grey market in Hong Kong, and the sellers claimed that these are engineered models and available in small quantity. Jailbreak Exploit Discovered for PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.56!

Mathieu Hervais, a well-known hacker today tweeted that he a has discovered a bug that allows exploiting metldr, the bootloader and firmware version 3.56

With Sony planning to release an ‘un-hackable’ PS3, it’s interesting to see that new holes are still being discovered in the console’s latest firmware. It’s even more interesting that Hervais doesn’t plan to release a working hack. Is Sony’s attack on George Hotz having an affect on the way the PS3 hacking scene works? Seem like it!

Android is Number One, Apple and RIM come second in the War of SmartPhones

Google, Apple, and RIM are all vying for the top spot among the smartphones. But which one is dominant depends on whether you look at operating systems or devices, according to new data from Nielsen.
Among mobile operating systems, Google's Android has surged into first place in the United States, grabbing 29 percent of the market, compared with 27 percent for Research In Motion's BlackBerry OS and 27 percent for Apple's iOS.
That left a 10 percent share for Microsoft's Windows Mobile and Windows Phone 7 combined, 4 percent for HP's Palm WebOS, and 2 percent for Nokia's Symbian

It's interesting to note that the popularity of Android, iOS, and BlackBerry OS didn't differ much across most age groups. However, those in the 18-24 range showed a somewhat higher preference for Android phones, according to Nielsen's numbers released this week.
The latest data shows a surge for Android from last summer when Nielsen pegged its market share at 19 percent versus 28 percent for iOS and 30 percent for the BlackBerry OS.
Having noted all that, taking a close look at the devices themselves, Nielsen found that Apple and RIM continue to be the major players in the U.S. compared with other manufacturers as they're the only ones making their own devices with their own operating systems. Their 27 percent market shares outshine third-place HTC, which has captured around 12 percent share with Android and 7 percent with Microsoft's mobile OS.
Motorola was the next manufacturer on the charts with 10 percent share with Android customers and 1 percent with Microsoft's mobile OS. Samsung followed with a 5 percent share with Android and 2 percent with Microsoft's OS.
Regardless of who's on top, the demand for smartphones continues to grow. In the last six months, 47 percent of consumers who picked up a mobile phone opted for a smartphone over a feature phone, according to Nielsen.
To compile its data, Nielsen surveyed more than 14,000 mobile subscribers from November 10 to January 11. As a result, the numbers don't factor in some of the recent developments in the mobile market, notably the debut of the Verizon iPhone.

Windows 8 Tweaks and Sneak Peaks- Photos

Win7China (via Windows8Beta) has managed to get hold of a number of screenshots of Microsoft’s next operating system. As you can see the logo of Windows 8 looks quite familliar
The most striking feature to come out of the leak is a new ‘restore’ feature that will give users the option to return their system to a vanilla install of Windows 8 at any time and in just two minutes.
Another interesting feature is the ability to log in using a Windows Live ID, with the ID’s display picture being shown in the redesigned system tray.

RIM BlackBerry to make low-cost, low-margin and cheap entry Level smartphones

Research In Motion, BlackBerry's maker is placing significant resources to "entry-level smartphones" according to one of its major suppliers. Chip maker Marvell, a Major Supplier to RIM, had a tough time in the quarter that ended January 29, with revenue down 6% (to $901 million) and net income down 13% (to $223 million) from the previous quarter; and all this in spite of the just ended Christmas season which is usually the peak time for smartphone sales. In view of the above, the company's shares dropped more than 11% on the news.
Marketwatch CEO Sehat Sutardja blamed the poor results on a switch by one of Marvell's customers toward building low-cost, low-margin smartphones- a market that Marvell does not supply. That customer is widely understood to be RIM.
RIM is facing pressure from lower priced smartphones that run Google's Android operating system. For all practical reasons, Android basically came out of nowhere in 2010 and surpassed RIM's global market share. Even though RIM grew in absolute numbers, it nonetheless fell to number three behind Android and leader Symbian (Nokia), according to Gartner.
Finally, RIM may be trying to capitalize on chaos at Nokia, which recently announced plans to switch its smartphone platform from Symbian to Windows Phone 7 over the next couple of years. Nokia sells a lot of inexpensive Symbian-based smartphones around the world, so perhaps RIM is looking at that market for expansion.
