On Sale- 64GB iPhone 4 model hits the streets of Hong Kong, China!!!!

According to a report published by MIC Gadget, “Engineering Prototype” it appears that models of the iPhone 4 with a storage capacity of 64GB are currently being sold underground in Hong Kong, China.

According to Unwire.hk, this suspicious 64GB model has started selling in Sin Tak, the greatest grey market in Hong Kong, and the sellers claimed that these are engineered models and available in small quantity. Interestingly, the back of the phone states iPhone XXGB! That reminds us the leaked prototype last year, the one Gizmodo bought it. It also states the Model no. as XXXXX, and the FCC ID as BCG-XXXXXX. On the screen, you can see is indeed a 64GB capacity and the model is 995-6049LL. And the phone is not locked! Any ideas what’s going on here?

While we cannot vouch for the authenticity of  these particular models, we can nonetheless verify that the “XX” on the back of iPhones generally represents Apple prototype models.

RIM To Bring BlackBerry Messenger To iPhone And Android.

Canadian smartphone giant Research In Motion is working on bringing its popular BlackBerry Messenger service to users of both Android and iOS devices. According to BGR, RIM is looking at the success of copycat services such as WhatsApp and clearly feels that it should have a piece of the cross-platform instant messaging pie.
According to our sources, RIM has not yet finalized details surrounding timing or pricing, but we have heard that the company might make the software free to all users. We’re also told strategy is still being developed, however, and RIM may end up charging users a one-time fee or even a recurring fee for access to its BBM service on third-party platforms.
The real question here though is whether any potential fees coming in from new BlackBerry Messenger users could possibly outweigh the lost revenue from selling BlackBerry smartphones. As a matter of fact, if you ask any BlackBerry owner why they love their phones so much, they always point to BBM. The question then becomes, if BBM is available to the iPhone and Android devices would some BlackBerry loyalists jump ship in preference to iOS or Android devices?

iPad WiFi Issues delay the release of iOS 4.2, Instead iOS 4.2 GM 2 on the Way!

The final version of iOS 4.2 was expected this week. As a prelude to that Mac OS X and iTunes were to be updated because they are prerequisites for the smooth operation and function of iOS 4.2. So far, Mac OS X had been updated. However, word has it that certain iOS 4.2 GM software bugs that affect WiFi connections on the iPad were discovered in the very last minute. Obviously, Apple is currently working on these bugs and as a consequence iOS 4.2 GM version 2 for the iPhone, iPod and iPad is inevitable. This implies that the public release of iOS 4.2 can only, at the earliest, arrive some time mid next week. In relation to the above, iTunes has not been updated yet and all indications are that iTunes will only be updated once these software bugs are fixed.

Apple has to get it right this time round especially if one considers the hardware and software problems that have come with iOS 4 and iPhone 4. Such problems include Apple being sued for bricking the iPhone 3G, the Glassgate problem that has seen the back glass of the iPhone 4 cracking a major security hole in iOS 4.2,  and the antenna problems of iPhone 4.

In the mean time, stay tuned for more updates.
